Launch of the Acuabi Ear Acupuncture Drop-in Clinic – Open Day

Date: 12th November 2011

This was an open day to celebrate the opening of our ear acupuncture drop-in clinic, where appointments are not necessary, providing more flexibility for the patient, and at affordable rates.

At this open day we explained a little more how the drop-in clinic works, giving a small presentation about the health benefits of acupuncture, and offering free taster treatments and refreshments to the general public.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the day, it was a pleasure to meet you all.

Acuabi at the Abingdon Health and Beauty Fair

Date: 8th October 2011

This was an event that took place in the market place in Abingdon to promote new businesses in Health and Beauty; we aimed to raise awareness about Acuabi and what it has to offer, and acupuncture treatment in general.

Acuabi is very grateful for the collaboration of the acupuncturist Suzana Martins and indispensable help of Simon White.

This event was very positive and generated a lot of interest; we received a lot of good feedback, and were subsequently featured on the Abingdon Blog.

Truck Festival 2011

Date: 22nd – 24th July 2011

After our positive experience at “Truck’s little sister”, the Wood Festival 2011, we set up our Acuabi Complementary Therapy stall at the Truck Festival 2011 this year, a local music festival near Abingdon.

Acuabi at the Wood festival

Date: Friday 19th – Sunday 21st May 2011

Acuabi participated in the local Wood Festival 2011, which promotes nature and music, for the first time, with our own Acuabi Complementary Therapy stall. With the indispensable collaboration of Siân Morriss, alongside Ana White, the aim was to promote and raise awareness of acupuncture in general, and its benefits.

This proved to be very successful – we had very positive feedback and acquired quite a few new patients. Overall we saw around forty people – of those we could confidently say half had never had acupuncture before and left the stall with a positive experience.

Acuabi wants to say a big thank you to Siân Morriss – a brilliant acupuncturist and reflexologist who always brought some sunshine, smile and a positive attitude to the stall, as well as (extra) some great music – wow, what a great voice!

Also a big thank you to:

… all the staff at Wood to make such a good atmosphere, especially Rebecca and the staff at the food tent – very friendly and helpful.

… all the patients for being so receptive, and making it such a successful experience for Acuabi, and for acupuncture in general.

… to Angela Hicks, for supporting the Acuabi stall and for helping raise awareness of acupuncture by providing useful information leaflets and prospectuses of the CICM college for those who may be interested in studying acupuncture, but also to provide books for sale at the stall (Acupuncture Handbook, Healing Your Emotions and 88 Chinese Medicine Secrets).

… and to all the people who made it possible to make it possible to run it smoothly and successfully: Giles from Fresh Graphic Solutions for providing three beautiful banners at such short notice; to Simon White for the beautiful trumpet music which attracted customers and interest, and finally Ben and Daisy for being so accepting of all circumstances and demonstrating to people how acupuncture can also be beneficial to children.
